Think of the last time you experienced a failure in your spiritual walk. Perhaps it was yesterday, or five minutes ago. What do you imagine God the Father thinking as He looked down on you?

This may even be your standard way of thinking. Jesus showed compassion, but the Father is the judge. That silence you feel during your struggles… is it not the God the Father distancing Himself from you?

Let me share with you what I discovered last night as I began to read the book of Hebrews.

[Jesus] is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of His nature.”
-Hebrews 1:3a

The writer of Hebrews had just stated that in the last times, God has spoken to us by His Son. We can safely declare:

The life of Jesus is a testimony to us regarding the heart of God.

Think: On earth, Jesus was “the exact imprint of [the Father’s] nature.” Yahweh wanted us to know what He was like. See, while the Son put away much of His divine abilities for the years He was on our planet, He did not give up the traits of God.

The implications of this are astounding if you are unsure of the Father’s feelings toward you! Look as Jesus has compassion on the multitude. Do you see the Father’s compassion shining through? Look as Jesus hangs on the cross. The Father speaks: I will that none should perish.

Soak up Jesus’ words in the Bible, my brothers and sisters. Feed on Jesus; sit at His feet, as did Mary. As we do, we discover that God the Father has loved us from the beginning.
